The circular economy requires the increased recycling and reusing of materials, but is such activity commercially profitable? We produce information in the six largest metropolitan areas (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Tampere, Turku, and Oulu) regarding twenty different materials that have been recognised as being important and which still require innovations for their utilisation or other solutions which will improve quality or yield. In addition, information is also gathered regarding quantities of materials becoming reusable for the part of certain product groups. We evaluate the volume and business potential of material flows in the metropolitan areas and strive to support business operations related to the value chains of recycling and reusing in collaboration with businesses. We welcome the participation of active and development-oriented businesses from all of the six metropolitan areas!
